How did you meet and get engaged?

We first met through mutual friends around 13 years ago. We saw each other over the years and officially got together around 7 years ago. Although I believe for Collie it was love at first sight for him when we met in Barcelona!

Describe your wedding:

We didn’t have a specific theme for our wedding. When planning the main focus was the venue, food and music. We wanted the day to be a celebration of love with our family and close friends.

Tell us about your bridal look:

I wanted to feel like myself on the day so I went for quite natural make up, with my hair tied up and I wore a vintage hairband from Jenny Vander. I found my dream dress in Archive 12 in Belfast, it was everything I said I didn’t want…white and regal. However, I found out after I bought the dress that I was pregnant with our third child. Luckily thanks to a gifted dressmaker I was able to have the dress altered to accommodate my 5 month bump!

What did your bridesmaids wear?

My bridesmaids were my sister and sister in law. They are two of my best friends so I let them pick their own dresses. They went for the same dress; a full-length champagne coloured dress. Our daughter, then 4.5 years old was our flower girl and she wore a pink dress.

What was your ceremony like?

We had a spiritual outdoor ceremony and it was pure magic. We invested a lot of time in the writing of the ceremony, readings, music etc. For me this was the most important part of the day, and we had a gospel choir perform throughout the ceremony. This set the tone for the day, happy and fun.

Tell us about your wedding venue:

Martinstown House can only be described as stunning and perfect. Set on the Curragh in my native Kildare. From the day we went to view the venue we were welcomed with open arms by Jessica, Edward and Andrew. The deciding factor when choosing this country house was the setting for getting married outside.

What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle on my Dad’s arm to Colin the love of my life. And to see my daughter and son there too.

Have you got any advice for other couples?

Don’t sweat the small stuff… seriously don’t! The big 3 are venue, food and music… guests won’t remember anything else, apart from the happy couple of course.
