How did you meet and get engaged?
We met on a boat trip on the Whitsunday Islands in Queensland Australia. We were both travelling the East coast of Australia at the time. We went back to Queensland for Christmas and Ger took me on a seaplane as a surprise over the heart reef and Whitsunday islands. We landed on Whitehaven beach and he popped the question!

Describe your wedding:
We wanted something alternative, romantic and a little traditional too. We decided to get married in a church in Kilcullen and then chose the beautiful Rathsallagh House as it has a worldly feel, romantic and a little different to the norm.

The colours we went with were rich and they really popped. Royal blue bridesmaids dresses, blue suits, peaches, golds, and ivory. Keeping with that romantic feel for an Autumn wedding.

Tell us about your bridal look:
If I had to describe my bridal look I would say it was simple, classic, and elegant. I went with a dress which complimented my body shape. The dress was an ivory mikado dress, fit and flare style from Wed2Be. It had a low back with buttons down the back and a diamanté belt. I wore a two-tier ivory veil and a hair clip with my hair swept up in a soft waved style.

What did your bridesmaids wear?
Royal blue long dresses from Wed2Be. Two of the girls had the same dress, a Grecian style look and my Maid of Honour had a one-shouldered dress. The colour really popped and they looked really elegant and beautiful. They had a silver knot necklace and silver shoes to match.

What was your ceremony like?
It was a church ceremony in the Church of Sacred Heart and Saint Brigid in Kilcullen. It was a really beautiful ceremony as we had a family friend marry us. He made it very personal for us! We asked some of our close friends and family members to do readings for us which meant a lot to us.

And our ceremony singer was absolutely fab. She has the voice of an angel! Caroline Kelly is such a talented singer. She literally blew each and every one of us away at our wedding. From the moment I contacted her she had been nothing short of an angel. She helped us with our music choices, and we loved having her as part of our special day.

Tell us about your wedding venue:
Rathsallagh House. I cannot even begin to tell you how stunning and amazing this venue really is! Nothing is too much of an ask for the staff and owners here. From the moment we spoke with them we knew we were in great hands and had found a hidden gem. Set in the beautiful Co.Wicklow you have the house exclusively for the day. The grounds are beautiful, with their feature tree which lights up at night time. The pavilion room has everything you need in one! Bathrooms, the bar, and dance floor all within easy reach which means you can keep the guests all in the same area for the night!
They also have a taxi service they can organise for your guests to take them to their local bnb’s after the party.

The venue itself, including the grounds and accommodation are fabulous, and the food and wine was 5 star. Our guests are still talking about it. The service here is exceptional. If you are searching for a romantic, country style feel then look no further.

Tell us about your photographer:

Anthony and Chris are two of the most, if not the most, talented photographers in Ireland. Having recently won Creative Photographer of the year, you will not be disappointed with your photos. We are over the moon with ours. If you are seeking a natural, non intrusive style and people you can trust, then these are your men!

Tell us about your videographer:

Jose is a pleasure to deal with. He did a fantastic job at documenting our day for us, and we are thrilled with our video. We have watched it several times already and it will never get old! You can have an hour long video when you want to look back on speeches, and special moments. You then have a 4 minute highlights clip which you can share with family and friends when they want to relive the day.

What is your favourite memory from your wedding day?
Seeing my Husband’s face as I walked down the aisle. It was such a special moment for us. All of the planning and talking about the big day and here we were sharing our love with the people that mean the most to us. It is the best feeling in the world!

Have you got any advice for other couples?
Enjoy your day, and forget the rest! Laugh, cry and dance the night away. Lastly get a videographer you will NOT regret it..it is unbelievable to watch the day back as you forget a lot of it. Something to share with family and friends and your children.
