An Ivory and Lilac Wedding With a Vintage Feel

Real Weddings

“Our main colours were ivory and lilac we went for a very vintage feel and incorporated it through our invitations and cake flowers etc…”

Names: Annmarie & Martin Gouldsbury

Length of engagement: 3years

Wedding Date: 22/07/2018

Wedding location: Finnstown Castle Hotel

Photographer: Ian Moore

We met… 15 years ago through a friend.

Our proposal… Our daughter was 2months old and he got a vest with will you marry my daddy on it and had my ring on a string hanging out of her vest.

Our wedding theme/colours… our main colours were ivory and lilac we went for a very vintage feel and incorporated it through our invitations and cake flowers etc…

Things we DIY’d/made ourselves… We did a candy table went for a vintage feel to that also went down so well with the guests.

My hair and make up. My brother in law Barry Gouldsbury did my hair on the day hes a stylist. And make up was done by Make up masters who are based in clondalkin owner is Debble Mc Cluffe.

His suit… Tangos in temple bar.

What our bridal party wore… Lads wore navy suits girls wore lilac dresses which I got made in china through a bridal shop in town.

Our ceremony… Was amazing we had a civil ceremony in the hotel and had a total of 145 guests in total it was one of the hottest days and everything we imagined it would be and more with all our amazing family and friends.

We chose our photographer because he came highly recommended to us through a friend and once I seen some of the work he had done in the past I was eager to go with him.

Himself and Hilary were amazing on the day and made us feel so comfortable and relaxed, the main photo that I had requested was my dad giving me away and I was so happy with how it turned out

I didn’t want any staged photos wanted a very natural feel to them and Ian was happy enough to go along with that.

We were so happy with how the photos turned out and they really did capture everything we wanted and much more….

We chose our venue because…we loved the venue because it had a real vintage feel to it the grounds were perfect for our photos and also had a helicopter pad which was perfect as my partner and his groomsmen arrived by helicopter.

Our menu…we had a 3 course dinner vegetable soup to start and an option of roast beef or turkey and ham with pavlova for dessert, the whole meal was fabulous, we had finger food then in the evening.

Our honeymoon… We have yet to go on honeymoon we had New York booked but I was unwell so we had to cancel.

My piece of advice for other couples… always go with your gut, do what yourself and your partner want as yous are the ones that have worked so hard to plan the special day and it goes by so quickly.

Don’t let anyone dictate in relation to your big day and try not stress out on the small stuff.

What is it that makes your wedding unique? We had a vintage theme through out, we originally were due to get married the following year but brought it forward as I wanted my dad to give me away and his hips were getting worse so we brought it forward.

It was such an amazing day
