We met… through mutual friends over a few nights out. I dropped a couple of not-so-subtle hints to my friend that I fancied him. After a party at my house one weekend, Barry messaged me on Facebook to thank me for having him over and gave me his number ‘just in case I ever needed an electrician’!
The proposal… We were on holiday in Thailand. We were staying on Phi Phi island for a few days and booked a day trip to see some of the beautiful islands surrounding it. Last stop of the day was to see Maya Bay from the film ‘The Beach’ at sunset. We had to swim some of the way onto the island so couldn’t bring our bags with us. Unbeknownst to me, Barry was quietly panicking about how he was supposed to swim without losing the ring box in his shorts pocket! He kept insisting we go for a walk down the beach on our own and when I turned around, he was down on one knee!
Our engagement shoot... was with Ruth Foran Photography and it was on the fabulous grounds of our wedding venue at Palmerstown House Estate in November 2017. It was a great way of getting to know our two photographers, and Ruth and her husband, Martin were amazing at putting any nerves we had at ease. It was a brilliant practice run for what to expect on our wedding day. We were delighted with the photos and we can’t wait to see our wedding album now!
