Christian Louboutin Wedding Shoes
A firm favourite amongst all shoe lovers, Christian Louboutin gets a visit from pretty much all shoe lovers when they get engaged, whether they can afford a pair or not! It’s not just the flash of the signature red sole, but the glamorous, showy but elegant designs in Louboutin’s vast collection of bridal shoes. The ‘must have’ for Louboutin brides has been the sexy and sophisticated Livree (top right) with its midi heel, and the seriously sparkly peep-toe You You Strass. In the new collection, we’re loving Au Hameau’s metallic gold detail (replacing the Swarovski embellishments which, to be fair, we still wouldn’t say no to), and dainty and feminine Dos Noeud, with satin bow detailing perfectly located at the back of the ankle strap. Available from the Brown Thomas Shoe Rooms.
Irregular Choice Wedding Shoes

Irregular Choice is popular with brides for its quirky, colourful and off-beat styles. The style of choice for the past while has been the Cortesan Floral Bar (bottom left) – its off-white shade, floral detailing and soft suede texture making it a popular wedding shoe for the alternative bride. Lately we’ve been loving the Miss Lower style. Miss Lower’s metallic gold floating flower, perspex heel and suede pom pom detailing (and of course those signature IC soles that put a smile on everyone’s face) make it just the right side of alternative for us. Irregular Choice shoes are available from Schuh, both in stores and online.
Badgley Mischka Wedding Shoes

One designer who sets our hearts a flutter every time is the ever fabulous Badgley Mischka. Ultra feminine ruffle and petal details make this collection the stuff of wedding dreams, where heels as light as air become the bride’s tangible cloud nine. Famed in weddings for the blush coloured ‘Randall‘ (top left) and ‘Cissy‘, this year we’ve tipped ‘Alessandra D’orsay‘ (top right), for it’s 3.5 inch friendly heel and rhinestone brooch embellishment, and ‘Zandra‘, the blush coloured midi heel stiletto with a tulle bow that’s TDF.

UK shoes designer Aruna Seth may not be a familiar name to the newly engaged, but if you’re a wedding blog lover or like to spend your time browsing inspirational boards on Pinterest, you’re bound to have come across her exquisite designs. Although brides have been wearing the fabulous crystal butterfly embellished ‘Farfalla’ for as long as we can remember, Aruna Seth really shot to fame with Pippa Middleton wore a pair from the collection to the Royal wedding reception. Farfalla, known as the ‘bridal Cinderella shoe’ is a super popular choice of shoes for brides as it comes in a variety of colours, shades and is available as both a stiletto and ballerina flat. We’re tipping the new Farfalla Ivory Lace with exquisite silver embroidered detail platform heel as the weapon of choice for 2013 brides. Aruna Seth shoes can be found at Myrtle Ivory Bridal in Anne’s Lane, Dublin.
Emmy Wedding Shoes
One of the designers of choice for vintage-seeking brides is Emmy. Emmy’s signature hand beaded shoes are decorated with Swarovski crystal, Mother of Pearl shell and silk to add a touch of decadent luxury. Elizabeth, with its soft round toe shape in ivory kid suede and metallic silver leather, is the ultimate in twenties glamour. The asymmetric diagonal strap and stunning art deco-inspired fan trim in pearl and crystal has made it the style of choice for vintage-loving brides. The Emmy Leila Gold Kitten is a fab alternative for those brides looking for a low heel and a real signature style. Each shoe is hand finished with Emmy’s gorgeous branding and a Swarovski crystal on the sole, brides often choose a blue crystal for their traditional something blue.
Jimmy Choo Wedding Shoes

A definite go-to for all that is glamorous and chic in bridal shoes, the Jimmy Choo label popped up again and again at weddings last year. ‘Crown‘ (top left) was one of the most popular styles we spotted both in Ireland and across the waters and while a classic peep toe stiletto is hard to beat (as is it’s sister sling back version ‘Nova‘ – top right) this year we’ve gone with the equally elegant ‘Lace‘ for its bold gold buckle detail, and the sexy scrappy gold glitter sandal ‘Lance‘ as successors to the JC bridal throne.
Manolo Blahnik Wedding Shoes

Manolo Blahnik‘s iconic royal blue pumps were made famous in the Sex and the City movie and were indeed designed especially for Carrie to strut down the aisle in as she waves goodbye to her single status. If we’re talking style, tradition, glamour and grandeur, Manolo’s Hangisi (bottom right) shoes are the ultimate in wedding shoes and will indeed continue to be a collector’s item. For this year we’re tipping the cute Clausado (top left) style to come to the fore in its many different guises. And for those who can spare the €1K+ (Ha!) why not sink your teeth into a pair of these Twilight ‘Swan’ ditties. Manolo Blahnik is available at Brown Thomas Shoe Rooms and online at Neiman Marcus.
Vivienne Westwood Wedding Shoes

Queen of punk style Vivienne Westwood and Brazilian shoe manufacturer Melissa came together to create a collection of environmentally friendly rubber footwear and rather surprisingly produced one of the most popular pairs of wedding shoes for quirky brides all over the world. Although they are made of PVC and rubber, by all accounts the little lovelies are super comfy as well as providing the perfect punch of colour for those magazine style wedding photos. The heart Lady Dragons are from a previous collection and although we think they’ll continue their popularity among brides (the ones lucky enough to get their hands on a pair, at least), we love the new take on the style which replaces the heart with a cute bow. Shoes are available online at Viviennewestwood.co.uk, or from ASOS for approx €157.
