Our wedding day was just super. Far far better than we could have ever imagined!! We were blessed with beautiful sunshine and we think all our guests really enjoyed the day! On the terrace in the sunshine eating our gorgeous cake it was just blissful. We both enjoyed every minute.
Airfield was absolutely stunning on the day. The atmosphere was just lovely on the terrace and also into the evening in the Library and all the staff went above and beyond to cater for all our needs, and I think they in particular helped set a relaxed intimate vibe, I really felt that so thank you to them.
Thank you so much to you Claire for all your guidance and support during the planning process right up to the day. Meeting you at Airfield the day before definitely put me at ease so thank you.
I will for sure be back at Airfield in the future will all Matthias's family, whether it be a christening or another family event. I will for sure want to show them the beauty, tranquility and effortless elegance of Airfield. It will remain such a special place for me.

Airfield is absolutely beautiful ? the house and gardens and restaurant are all fabulous. It was already a place that we were quite fond of because we had visited it a few times before we ever got engaged. It was also ideally located for people coming from all over Ireland and flying into Dublin from various diffferent countries. But, I have to say, I think the biggest thing is that the staff at Airfield are just so genuinely lovely that you almost feel at home there! They were so helpful in terms of meeting our requests for the day from menu choices to extra decorations. On the day, we had a few people with small babies, and they set aside a room for feeding mums and quiet time. The other big thing that made Airfield such a great venue was the food! Their food is phenomenal, and they have so many interesting menu choices for weddings. Everything from the canapes to the meal to the evening snacks were absolutely delicious. Most of their food is sourced from their own farm on their estate and anything they don?t have, they get locally. Our guests are still talking about two things ? how friendly and relaxed everyone at the venue was and how unbelievable the food was! We got married there a few months ago and we have been back a few times since because we literally just have the best time every time we visit.

Before the wedding we already knew and loved Airfield - the relaxed atmosphere, the wonderful fresh food and the staff. Picking Airfield as the venue for our wedding was easy, you just have to see (and taste) the beautiful gardens to fall in love with it. But they exceeded their own promises and our expectations on the day. They put a vast amount of work into making everything look effortless.
Our tasting was magical. Claire and Luke, the head chef, talked through the Airfield philosophy of food based on the seasonal produce from their on-site farm and gardens. At one point when we asked about the availability of a particular cut of meat Luke glanced out the window to check the numbers of sheep in the field. When we tasted Luke?s sample menu Fiona?s plan to pick lots of canapes went out the window. We took leadership from Luke who considered the menu, from canapes to evening nibbles, as one continuous, coherent experience.
As the wedding was at midsummer, Airfield happened to be preparing a special menu based on the availability of food at that particular time of the year. They offered this to us as an option. We jumped at the opportunity as it reflected the seasonality and freshness that Airfield do so well. This added another layer of excitement to the day as we didn?t know what would be served until it was brought out of the kitchen. We had been so impressed with the knowledge of their own produce from the farm and gardens at the tasting that we felt we could trust them to produce their best food in this way. The feedback from guests amounted to gushing and raving reviews. The combinations of simple ingredients used in exotic ways, and an artistic sense of knowing when to keep things simple delighted everyone. We really felt like they did something special for us.
The restaurant with the deck, surrounding pond, and links to the outdoors, the ceremony under the giant trees where we played as children, and the beauty of the walled garden and the old house in summer complimented the rustic but refined food and warm, laid back hospitality. The service from Airfield showed off what these people do very well. They take the simple things seriously and work hard to be very good at what they do. We can?t thank them enough.

We were a much smaller group and it was on the wrong day but in the end but we still had a fantastic time. The walled garden was looking stunning on the day, whilst the set up and decorations in the old house were faultless. The food was as delicious and seasonal as promised- it is even better than it looks in the brochure (thank you to Luke). Our wedding cake and deserts were fabulous (thank you Shane). The atmosphere was relaxed and fun.
We all had a really great time- with special thanks to Jose and his team for making us feel so comfortable and helping out with all those little last minute adjustments and to Rachel and Claire for the planning!
