A Dreamy Minimalist Summer Wedding

Once they had picked their date for a summer wedding, they chose to keep the colours light. Boyne Hill House Estate is already decorated so beautifully, so they kept the rest of their decor minimal.

Fiona and Eamonn got engaged while they were on a trip to New York in December 2017. Eamonn popped the question in Central Park which was a complete surprise to Fiona.

Once they had picked their date for a summer wedding, they chose to keep the colours light. Boyne Hill House Estate is already decorated so beautifully, so they kept the rest of their decor minimal.

For Fiona’s bridal look, she opted for something classical and timeless. She didn’t want to be over the top, so when she spotted her dress in MK Bridal Boutique, she knew it was right up her street. She kept the natural look for her hair and makeup to keep the focus on the detail of the dress.

“I absolutely love the shop Folkster so the bridesmaids dresses came from there. I picked a cornflower blue colour for the dresses and chose a jacket to finish the look off so they had the option of sleeves or no sleeves throughout the day.”

Fiona and Eamonn had a humanist ceremony at Boyne Hill House Estate. They described it as very intimate as they got to choose each element of the ceremony from start to finish. They were able to involve all their loved ones and friends throughout the ceremony.

“We fell in love with Boyne Hill House Estate the minute we stepped foot on the grounds. It has so much character with so many nooks and crannies from the main house with a secret tunnel to the function room. The secret garden outside it was just so special we knew it was going to be our place and it was even better on the day. The staff are amazing and as we had a bbq for day two the venue was our home for the weekend and the staff did everything to make it feel like home for all of us.”

Both Fiona and Eamonn said their favourite memory from the day was when they snuck out into the secret garden with their photographer, David Moore. The band was in full swing and everybody was up dancing and enjoying themselves, so this seemed like the perfect moment. They got one last shot there, making the most of the beautiful full moon!

“Don’t stress, as everything you will have stressed over prior to the wedding day won’t matter on the day, for example the weather! I spent way too much time fretting it was going to rain on the day …and it did rain…but it didn’t matter nor did it make the day any less special. I actually didn’t even notice as we were enjoying our day so much so don’t ruin any build-up by worrying or stressing. Don’t lose sight of what the day is actually about and enjoy the planning and build up together.”
