A Gorgeous Green Wedding in Ireland

Articles, Real Weddings

Meet Jennifer and Eoin! They got engaged during the lockdown of Summer 2020 and celebrated their wedding at the gorgeous Tinakilly Country House. Without being too bothered about wedding themes or colours, they settled on a green wedding, with shades of sage in the bridesmaids dresses and wedding stationery.

Couple: Jennifer Murphy + Eoin Howlin

Jennifer and Eoin got engaged during lockdown in Summer, 2020!

“We were on a staycation in County Clare during the lockdown summer of 2020. Eoin got down on one knee at the breathtaking Cliffs of Moher. It was a total surprise and I started crying with happiness.”

“We weren’t too bothered with a theme or colour scheme for our wedding. That being said the bridesmaids dresses were sage green and our wedding stationery was also green, so I guess green was the theme!”

Jennifer wore the Anitra dress by Pronovias which she got in Truly Bridal, Naas. It was a crepe gown with a bateau neckline, embroidered cap sleeves, and a scoop back. She absolutely loved her dress. Eoin wore a navy tuxedo which he got in Richie Whelan’s in Naas.

The bridemaids wore the fleur gown in sage green from Folkster. The groomsmen wore navy tuxedos from Richie Whelan’s in Naas – the same as Eoin.

“We had a traditional church ceremony in St. Patrick’s Church, Wicklow Town. Fr. Donal Roche was the celebrant. We had beautiful music by John Bonner (organist) and Karla Tracey (soprano).”

“Our wedding venue was the stunning Tinakilly Country House and Gardens in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow. We were blessed with the weather on the day and enjoyed a beautful drinks reception in the mature gardens overlooking the Irish Sea. Tinakilly was our dream wedding venue and it certainly surpassed all of our expectations – the staff and service were incredible. Our guests still talk about what an amazing venue it is!”

Their wedding was perfectly captured by Joseph Reid!

“He captured so many beautiful candid and formal moments. Not only were the photographs absolutely stunning, but Jospeh had such a calming presence – it felt as if we had a close friend by our side and we were able to relax and enjoy our day. We had the best experience with Joseph and couldn’t recommend him highly enough.”

To entertain their guests, they chose The Mixtape band, who were brilliant for playing the best songs to keep the dance floor full. The guests were raving about the band.

Jennifer and Eoin share their favourite memory from their wedding:

“Walking into the pavillion for the famous “Tinnakilly dinner reception” and seeing everyone enjoying themselves and waving their napkins to Micky Joe Harte’s “We’ve Got the World Tonight” – such a great buzz.”

Newlyweds always share brilliant wedding advice for other couples:

“The best advice that we got that we would also give to other couples was that your wedding day is not all about you, think about your guests – if they are having a good time so will you!”
