From tousled boho waves and romantic chignons to braids, undone upstyles and lots of glorious hair accessories on the runway at NY Bridal fashion week, I’ve handpicked the best of the best in wedding hair trends for 2017 just for you lovely ladies so sit down and take 5 minutes and let’s get excited for your big day!

Jewels & Flowers – The floral crown has been given a makeover, having been on trend since 2012, jewels and accessories have been added as seen on the runway of Marchesa and Maggie Sottero.
So for all you romantics out there who still want flowers in their hair, try something more delicate than a full-on crown. Maybe add accessories or dot small flowers throughout a crown braid.

Textured Volume Waves – For all you boho babes out there, the boho wedding of your dreams isn’t going out of style any time soon. An updated version of the beachy waves was seen at Theia with added volume which gave the hair extra texture.

Braids, Braids, Braids – Braids are also timeless and can be styled in a number of ways. For a romantic style try an updo with layered braids as seen at Claire Pettibone, this will add an edge to a classic, more formal gown but also works perfectly with a laid-back bridal look.

Freshly Undone – Also seen across the runway were free-flowing locks and undone updos giving a fresh, contemporary and a cool alternative to the traditional upstyle.

I hope this has given you all some inspiration and please feel free to ask me any bridal hair questions, I’m only too happy to help you all.

Picking a hairstyle for a wedding day can be tough. Of course you want to pick something on trend, but also you need to remember to choose a look which is timeless. But the most important thing is you need to feel like yourself. The easiest way to make your look more interesting or more glamorous is by adding in some hair accessories or fresh flowers. Here’s a few of the best bridal hairstyles that you might keep in mind if you’re planning your wedding this year.

– Very soft and undone updos are a cool alternative to the traditional chignon. If you leave some free-flowing pieces of hair or curls around your face, you will get a more romantic look.

– Can’t decide whether to have your hair up or down? You don’t need to. You can enjoy the updo and loose down hair at the same time. This look is perfect for any type of dress and face shape.

– Keep it simple and wear your hair down with soft, fluffy texture. This trend can be bohemian or glamorous. Loose natural, very relaxed curls are a very popular look for 2017.

– The modern vintage style has been popular these past few years and it always looks so classy and elegant.

What do brides want in 2017? Next to a wedding dress? Of course a glorious and beautiful wedding hairstyle that will outshine the bridesmaids and every other female attending! Bridal styles like curls or classic updos will never go out of style but 2017 trends suggest brides may be ready for some changes! From bright accessories to more low-key looks, the hot wedding styles of the year feel fresh, re-energised, adventurous and distinctly fun.

It’s not just about the style, brides in 2017 are putting a lot more emphasis on the colour, volume and natural texture that will complement their chosen style.

Braids are big news this year! Loose undone fishtail braids intertwined with fresh flowers or braided crowns with a scattering of pearls and crystals are a unique approach for the bride who wants to stand out.
