Good morning! Today we share a sweet couples engagement shoot – Joanna and Andrew who just happen to be childhood sweethearts!
Husband and wife team, Lewis and Louise, aka The Lous from Blackbox Photography were on hand to capture the romance between this loving duo as well as taking in the breathtaking natural landscape of the rugged North Coast.
Andrew and I are childhood sweethearts; we met through his church youth club eight years ago when we were both teenagers. I noticed him straight away but we were friends about six months before we started dating. Andrew was very sensible and wanted us to get to know each other before hand- the rest is history, we have been together since then.
Although we had been together a long time and we knew we wanted to get married in the future, Andrews proposal was a complete surprise. He picked and sized the ring himself.
It was Easter weekend and we had planned to go out for a meal but I was sick. So Andrew suggested we go out the following Sunday to Harvey’s Point Donegal for lunch instead. Little did I know that he had asked my father’s permission the same day and was planning more than just lunch the following Sunday.
The following Sunday after lunch Andrew suggested a beach in Donegal that he knew but I had never been to. If we were ever near the coast we always went for walks so this was no big surprise to me. While on the beach Andrew got down one knee and proposed! It was perfect, I was so happy to know that we were finally getting married!
We decided to have an engagement shoot because our engagement is such a special time in our life and it is worth commemorating the love Andrew and I share.
We know Lewis and Louise through our church and admire their style and their easy nature! When we got engaged we knew we had to have them photograph our wedding because they have the ability to perfectly capture the individual character and style of every client.
Andrew and I are getting married on the 3rd of October 2013 so not long to go. We are enjoying planning our wedding and most importantly looking forward to married life after the big day.
