10 Budget Friendly DIY Place Cards

Inspiration

Budget, blah, blah, blah! No one likes to hear the word budget, but when you are embarking on a new married life together creating and sticking to a budget is pretty important, especially if you want to begin this next chapter on a healthy note, financially.

10 Budget Friendly DIY Place Cards

With all couples wanting to create a unique day that will be memorable, we all crave cute little details and no detail is too small to be forgotten about, not even simple little place cards. As tiny as they may be purchasing 250 of them will soon add up, so why not set your creative side a challenge and make your own?

We’ve scoured Pinterest (the holy grail for images for DIY ideas IMO) for some cool ideas.

Pictured above:

1. Good old fashioned parcel tags are never a bad choice. Either scribe with your guests name freehand or buy yourself a set of individual letter stamps and get stamping!

 Cardboard Embroidered Initials

2. Maybe not a good idea if you have 300 odd guests as you will be crafting for a verrrrry long time, but these cardboard letters look chic yet cute covered with embroidery thread. For a more rustic feel use gardening twine or wool for a cosy touch.

Place names using wine bottle corks

3. Yay! Eventually, the answer to that age old dilemma of collected wine bottle corks, simply saw a line across them and add a simple piece of card with each guests name on.

Bookmark Place Names

4. We love this pretty bookmark idea! Easily made and decorated with your wedding date and location etc, not only can each be personalised but they will act as the perfect wedding favour too!

Lemon Place Names 5. Add a touch of zingy lemon and lime to your colourful day with these pierced lemon place settings. Stick to your colour scheme of choice by choosing different fruit to match. Limes for zesty greens, plums or passion fruit for deep purples or pomegranate for rich reds… – you get the picture.

Old Film Place Names 6. Photography buffs will love these old rolls of film that have cleverly been used place cards. Why not ask your local chemist if they have old rolls lying around in need of up cycling?!

Polaroid Photo Place Names

7. A photograph of each guest, always a lovely idea, not always a lovely job collecting them all up! But if you do go for broke and choose this option your guests will be blown away with your dedication and effort in making the day unique!

Lollipop Place Names

8. A brilliant and fun idea for children’s place settings, lollipops dressed with washi tape and personalised with each guests name is simple yet effective!

Pebbles Place Names

9. Make your trip to the beach a treasure adventure by collecting pebbles to use for place cards, simply write each guests name with a Sharpie and you have the most budget friendly idea ever!

Jam Jar Place Names

10. Last but not least, ask your family to save jam jars for a few months. They can be transformed into personalised keepsakes from your big day with either permanent marker or a touch of blackboard paint and chalk!
