DIY Wedding Celebration of Love with Sea Views

Real Weddings

Morning Missies! Today we have the beautiful and heartfelt wedding of George and Claire. Their early summer wedding celebrated the deep love and faith the couple hold, as well as displayed the creative couples love for DIY and especially wood which was a theme running throughout their day. We’re delighted to share their union with photography by Photohouse Photography.

“George and I first met in church. There was a church weekend away planned and George and I went, he offered to drive and bring me. There began our story and from this moment our friendship grew and over time it grew into love,” explained Claire.

“When it came to planning the wedding this was easy as George and I have similar taste. We only viewed one reception venue, and as soon as we met Tina and walked into the Marine Hotel and saw the view of the sea we instantly knew this was our venue. The staff were so helpful and did everything they could to help us plan for our big day,” added Claire.

With a passion for wood and very creative mind’s Claire and George used this as the basis for their wedding theme with elements of wood running throughout the day from the initial invitations to signage on the day and the reception table centres and decor. The seating plan, church flowers and decor, table centrepieces and candy bar were all lovingly created by Claire and George.

“The day was so special, my brother had flown home from Australia and came to my last dress fitting. We made memories that I will remember always. The family also had a new addition, my nephew Jacob who was born a month before. It all seemed perfect timing for the family to be together. George’s granddad who is 90 was also there for our wedding and to see all three generations together was lovely,” reflected Claire. “Our day was perfect, George and I wanted our ceremony to be the main event as our heart is about sharing our love and our faith.”

“If George and I had to give a bit of advice it would be enjoy every second of the day and take it all in as the flies by,” Claire concluded.
