Five DIY Chair Decorations We Love

Inspiration

We all know it’s the tiny little details that make your wedding unique to you, and what could be more bespoke to your taste than a few DIY elements? Today we have five chair decor ideas for the main pews in the house, of course the married couple – that’s if you’re not going for Posh’n’Becks style matching golden thrones..

Firstly, can we just say how much we LOVE the above idea! Created by the talented Alise Taggart for her own Georgia wedding, the embroidery hoops are elegant with a rustic touch and a cool nod to Mr Cash!

1. Hessian bows

Perfect for a rustic styled wedding, these hessian bows are pretty easy to replicate too – check out the step-by-step guide here.

2. Assorted ribbons

How cute and whimsical is this idea? With not much skill but a whole heap of patience you could create this round your entire reception room! Or at least on every other chair. Simply choose ribbons or strips of fabric that tone with your theme and colour scheme and go to town.

3. Simple ampersand

You could just go out and purchase a giant ampersand to hang between the chairs of you and your husband, but we suggest to get the cardboard out, or if you’re handy with a jigsaw, use plywood to create and then decorate your own ampersand. Simply drape between the seats at your reception for a quirky look.

4. Mr & Mrs signs

There are any amount of Mr and Mrs signs on the market, but we’re particularly fond of the diy versions made from anything you like; scrap wood, driftwood collected from your beach, chalkboards or even painted canvass will make a great sign to drape from your seats.

5. Floral letters

This bride chose to adorn each chair with a kiss and a hug, but you could use your initials instead. Your florist could put an idea like this together for you in minutes, but if you want to give it a go yourself use floristry oasis cut to the shape you want or alternatively bend chicken wire into your preferred letter and fill with flowers. Be warned though, you will need plenty of time for this fiddly job and flowers that will not wilt too quickly!

What do you think of these imaginative ideas for dressing your wedding chairs? We’d love to hear from you if you have a go! Simply, leave us a comment below.
