“Aaron and I met at a school disco when we were teenagers, we were each other’s formal dates and always remained very close, good friends,” said Jessica. The couple got together four years ago and knew instantly it would be for life.

Two years into their relationship Aaron planned a romantic proposal in Glasgow.

“I had booked a trip to Glasgow for Aaron’s birthday back in October 2013. We were out for a meal in a restaurant which Aaron picked that was close to the hotel and Aaron had ‘forgot’ his mobile. He said we should go back for it after the meal and when we did I opened the door to find roses and champagne. Aaron got down on one knee and asked me, I was in complete shock and we were both very emotional. We then went the next day into the city to pick a ring, came home and celebrate with our family and friends,” explained Jessica.

On their return home Jessica’s sister had bought her a bridal magazine and the wedding plans quickly started to form. “We looked at several venues but always came back to Corick House as it had a homely and countryside feel to it. Pinterest gave us so many ideas and inspirations and then it was a matter of trying to refine exactly what we were looking for from our day,” added Jessica.

The couple chose to marry on Easter Tuesday this year. Jessica had always loved pastel shades, which worked perfectly with the time of year. “We decided on soft greys, peaches and powder blue. I love Spring and come from a farming background therefore we wanted lots of flowers, little milk bottles of wild flowers going up the aisle and creamery cans at the entrance of the church which were then brought to Corick Hotel as they suited the countryside venue,” said Jessica.

After a lot of searching Jessica found her perfect wedding gown in The White Gallery, outside Newry. It was an Elizabeth Stuart creation which exuded a relaxed romantic feel. Her bridesmaids wore simple pale dove grey dresses, whilst Aaron was able to use his expertise in dressing grooms as he works in SD Kells menswear and groomswear department!

“The day went really well, the weather was perfect and we all had a great time with our family and friends. Our Usher Adrian who was transporting flowers from the church to the hotel ripped his trousers and the Mother of the Groom had to sew them up again, we all found it rather amusing,” said Jessica.

Their ceremony at St Columba’s Church, Omagh was made very personal to Jessica as the school choir she runs through her primary school teaching job sang during the ceremony. “Everyone enjoyed listening to them, I was very proud as they did such a fantastic job and it was so good of them to come along during their Easter holidays,” added Jessica.

“We had so many highlights. For me it was walking up the aisle with my Dad as I knew it meant a lot to him. I remember feeling really excited to walk up to meet Aaron at the altar. Aaron’s highlight was turning round and seeing me for the first time that day. We both loved standing back and watching all our family and friends enjoy the weather in the gardens of Corick, we just couldn’t believe our day was actually here,” said Jessica.
