So the worlds most eligible bachelor is now a married man! Despite all the chat about stunning Amal in her custom Oscar de la Renta gown we think George was looking in his prime and a very dashing groom! Today we’re having a look at how your groom should be preparing for the wedding, because us girlies know the importance of a good beauty regime before the big day, so why can’t the groom indulge in some pampering too? We can’t guarantee George Clooney as the result, but it’ll be close!

Listen up grooms, your stunning fiancé is going to great lengths to be the most beautiful version of herself on your wedding day, so don’t you go thinking a quick shave and a spritz of aftershave will cut it! No no, you need a pre-wedding beauty regime too!

  1. Get familiar with the male grooming salons around you, you will be surprised with the amount of options around, male grooming is big business these days. If there are no salons specifically catering for men only look to your local spas, they will certainly have male treatments on the menu.
  2. Get your priorities in order; do you want to whiten your teeth before the wedding? Many couples have their teeth whitened as it gives them more confidence for the photographs and when smiling all day long! If you’re skin could do with a little TLC start looking at treatments available in the salons, from anti ageing to skin brightening, work out what is best for you and get a series of treatments booked.
  3. Look after yourself! Drinking plenty of water, getting your required hours of sleep and generally being good to yourself will make you not only feel great on your wedding day but your guests will see it in your face!
  4. Within a few days of your wedding the real prep will commence! Start off with a great haircut, nothing radical but a good smart look from your regular barber.
  5. Don’t forget those ring photographs. If your job has anything to do with using your hands, manual work etc think about having a nourishing hand treatment and manicure to sort out your nails a couple of days before the wedding. You’ll not regret it, especially when you see your wedding photos.
  6. If you need one last fix of brighter skin have a facial around two days before the wedding, you will still see the glowing effects on your wedding day, plus it will help relax you and calm any nerves that might be creeping up.
  7. Finally, if you are going for the clean shaven look, avoid shaving for at least two days before your wedding. This will give your skin time to sooth down any shaving redness and your skin will be a much better canvas for your wedding day shave. You could give it a go at home, but why not go for a hot towel shave by a professional as a treat? We love The Grooming Rooms, South William Street, Dublin 2. A hot towel shave costs €35 and is the perfect pre-wedding treat for you and your grooms party!
