Alison and Gearoid’s Elegant Wedding at The K Club

Real Weddings

We don’t feature many weddings where the groom turns up to the ceremony after the bride! But that’s just what happened when Alison and Gearoid tied the knot, but as they say, it’s the little things that make the day memorable!

Alison and Gearoid's Elegant Wedding at The K Club

This beautiful family celebration at The K Club was captured by Philip O’Neill and features lots of glorious details. Enjoy!

Style on their day was an elegant mix of ivory and mushroom tones with Alison’s lace gown perfectly reflecting the tasteful theme. Abundant bouquets of roses in dusky pink added a delicate and warm shade to the palette.

They chose to have their wedding date inscribed on the inside of their rings – what a love touch, and also a handy reminder for Gearoid!

Alison’s Stephanie Allin wedding gown was purchased from Myrtle Ivory in Dublin, after visiting many bridal boutiques, she knew it was the perfect dress as soon as she tried it on.

Gearoid and I first met on St Patrick’s Day 2004 through friends, it was like a scene from Titanic, except it was the groom walking down the stairs to the bride when their eyes met! Five years later, Gearoid proposed to me during the candle light night vigil at Petra in Jordan.

Gearoid’s highlight was seeing Alison for the first time at the top of the aisle.

For Alison the highlight of her wedding day was the beautiful ceremony, where she put Gearoid’s wedding ring on the wrong hand!

After taking advice from friends and family and visiting a few bridal fairs to gather some inspiration, Alison and Gearoid decided on the The K Club in Kildare to host their reception and St Nicholas of Myra, Kinsealy for their ceremony. Both locations were easily chosen as the couple knew immediately they were the perfect venues to host their wedding.

The grounds of the K Club really are a stunning backdrop for wedding photos.

Advice for other couples

Don’t get too stressed and everything will come together and any little disasters add to the day and you’ll laugh about them after the big day.
