This year we’ve watched as lots of brides choose very subtle shades for their bridesmaids, which is of course gorgeous, but sometimes we hark back to colour. Today we’re delighted to be sharing Liz and Johnny’s wedding day complete with vibrant Cadbury purple bridesmaids gowns and a lovely birdcage theme. Thanks to Gary Collins Photography for sharing their day with us.
Liz and Johnny first met online via Myspace in 2007. When they met in person for the very first time it was love and three years on Johnny popped the question, for the second time! “Johnny proposed twice; once over the phone and then when he had the ring on the 8th of November 2010 – he was still nervous even though I’d already said yes!” said Liz.
With her favourite colour being purple, Liz knew immediately this would be the shade she used throughout her wedding day, which was chosen as July 19th, 2014. Together with a vintage touch and lots of statement birdcages their wedding plans came together easily. “I wanted a vintage theme which revolved around our wedding cake which was shaped like a birdcage. This carried through to the origami bird table plan and place cards, as well as the birdcage and floral centrepieces at the reception. I also had feathers in my bridal bouquet to bring through the feather detail in my dress,” added Liz.
Her beautiful wedding gown was the first dress she tried on and Liz immediately knew it was the one! Her bridesmaids wore Victoria Dawes multi-way which they wrapped in a style that suited them each.
“The day was great but went way to fast! The weather was great so we couldn’t ask for much more. Our first kiss after becoming husband and wife at the church and the first dance at the reception surrounded by our family and friends were two of our highlights of a perfect day,” said Liz.

Relax, don’t sweat the little things and don’t forget to just enjoy the day as it goes so fast!
