When your mum is a wedding dress seamstress and you’re getting married there’s a good chance you’ll know where to go to find your dream dress! Our lovely bride today, Laura knew just who to ask help create her gown and wait until you see it! Thanks to Roselyn from Couple Photography for sharing Laura and Cornel’s beautiful day with us.
Laura and Cornel are originally from Romania but now live in Sandyford. They met on a night out in January 2008 and two years later got engaged during an afternoon walk in the park.
“After a holiday spent in Italy we decided to set the date. After researching on the internet we set up a budget trying to be as realistic as possible. We then decided on the colour scheme and flowers and started to choose our venue, photographer, DJ and stationery. We kept to the budget and planned everything in advance, this way there weren’t any last minute major surprises,” explained Laura.
After narrowing down the dress styles she preferred Laura’s mum got to work and created a stunning gown with pretty lace detail back. The dress featured an Aline skirt which suited Laura’s shape and the gorgeous fabric was perfect for the creation.
“We didn’t have a strict theme we just tried to keep the day simple and elegant,” added Laura.
Following their religious ceremony in the Romanian Orthodox Church on Leeson Street, Laura and Cornel headed to the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel in Killiney for their reception.
“We had a lovely day, everything went smoothly apart from a slight delay at the church as the priest overran with a Christening. Our highlight from the day was when we were sitting down for the meal, it was the first time during the day when we got to relax! I’d advise all brides to plan well in advance and set yourself a budget. Do some research first and then set up the budget to ensure it is realistic and allow yourself plenty of time and enjoy it,” said Laura.
