Focus on you two
One of our favourite reasons for considering eloping is that you can keep the focus where it should be: on you and your love. There’s less chance of getting caught up in all the plans and fuss when you elope! You’ll be able to be more present on the day, and that’s certainly a highlight! The entire focus will be on celebrating your love and commitment to one another. You can create a wedding that’s as simple or elaborate as you’d like it to be.
It’ll give you a chance to do something different
A big, extravagant wedding isn’t for you? That’s alright, eloping is your chance to do something unique. Pick your favourite location – wherever you want it to be! – and have the wedding that YOU want to have. If you want to include some traditions, great! If not, that’s great too. It’s your day.
It can feel more intimate and meaningful
Ever heard of couples who spent their entire wedding saying hello to everybody and not having even a moment to eat? The number one piece of advice that couples have shared with us is this: take a moment to soak it all in, just the two of you! If you’re eloping, it’s a heck of a lot easier to do this. You’ll be able to have a more intimate experience when you don’t have to worry about timelines, to-dos and the event.
Wedding planning stresses you out
Eek, we don’t blame you! While some choose to enlist the help of a professional, others choose to elope and avoid all the planning altogether. Some couples feel that planning their wedding turns all of it into a task to complete instead of a moment to celebrate.
A big wedding is not your thing
Big weddings are not for everybody and that’s ok. Some couples prefer celebrating their relationship with a more intimate gathering of just their closest friends and family. Others want to scrap it altogether and have a really simple elopement. If big gatherings aren’t for you, that’s completely fine.
