Let me first start by introducing myself. My name is Grainne O'Doherty and I am the owner of Make Up Matters. Multi Award Winning Makeup Artist 2019 & Hairstylist .. trained in the art of High-definition Airbrush Make-up, which is dedicated to helping everyday women & men put their best faces forward for weddings, special events & photography.

Your face will be in the spotlight on your Wedding Day ,and therefore, looking your best but still feeling like yourself ,will help you radiate confidence, poise and personality. Airbrushing Make-up is ideal for brides and bridal parties. Make-up is applied by misting foundation onto the skin to create that "flawless picture perfect" look. A custom blend of foundation is created for your skin that leaves a powder free flawless finish and lasts up to 18 hours without the need for retouching. Its water and rub resistant formula prevents streaking and smearing; its tear proof and will not come off on you're wedding dress.

Grainne & Sharon were just amazing on my wedding day. I don?t usually wear makeup and wanted a natural flawless look for my wedding and boy did they deliver! The absolute dream team. Grainne and Sharon are not just fantastic at what they do, they are the warmest, lovely, and most loving people, Nothing was a problem from the first day I made contact to the actual day of the wedding, We had such a laugh getting ready and my Mother in Law who absolutely hates anyone near her was putty in their hands. They pampered her and made her feel so special all whilst trying to sort out me as the bride, 4 bridesmaids, and 2 very active and fidgety flower girls. Grainne is such a kind soul. Her calming nature and understanding is what every bride needs on not only their wedding day but in the big build up to it. She has such a talent and this was 100% evident in my wedding day in my bridal party and I. We all kept getting complimented that we looked airbrushed; almost that we had a filter on all day! She uses the best products and tailors the products to your skin types. She literally creates your dream look into reality and I can never thank her enough. I have never felt as confident in my life and it?s 100% down to the makeup look she created which even lasted well into day 2 of my wedding. I know the future is bright for Makeup Matters and Grainne is an absolute credit to the business.

Make up Matters went absolutely above and beyond for our wedding. On what was probably the hottest day of the year, she was amazing at attention to detail of the entire bridal party including my 4 year old daughter. Ensuring our makeup would stay great for the entire day even throughout the heat. She went absolutely above and beyond the night before our wedding she had a medical emergency and in order to drive down to Waterford in time for our wedding checked herself out against doctors orders. She truly went above and beyond what was required. I can?t thank her enough for the style, the quality, the professionalism, and the ability to be their on our big day even when she was going through so much herself. I had the best experience with Grainne. I was the maid of honor in my friend's wedding and I got a very bad sunburn the day before the wedding (I'm very pale!) I was so nervous there was nothing that could be done but Grainne could not have been more professional and cool about the whole thing. She was able to cover it up flawlessly - no one could even tell. Not only that, but the coverup lasted the whole night - almost 15 hours! She is very easy to work with, as well. Extremely knowledgeable about what colors would look best on you, but willing to work with your ideas and comfort level.

Grainne did my makeup for my wedding and she was absolutely amazing! I ended up having a few trials as I have problematic skin and Grainne worked her magic every time. She brought a girl called Sharon to do my hair and I can honestly say I've never been so happy with my hair than what I was on my wedding day. They were punctual, reliable and knowledgeable about what worked. Grainne knew what would look best for different skin tones and conditions but also respectfully listened to all requests and ideas. My entire bridal party was absolutely delighted with the final results. They made the whole morning so much better with a calm, stress-free but excited attitude.
I can?t recommend Grainne enough, she is so talented at her craft and one of the nicest people I have ever met.

Having Grainne and Sharon provide hair and make up services for our wedding was such a great experience. I was unsure of what I wanted when I went for my trial but left feeling super happy. On the wedding day itself we had such a great time chatting away that the morning flew by. I was delighted with the results as were my two bridesmaids and the mammies. Ages ranged from 17 to 70 and everyone looked amazing. Would 100% recommend for professionalism, calming presence and great craic. Excellent value service also.

There just aren't words to describe how incredible our experience was. From start to finish the ladies were amazing, they fitted in totally unfazed by the chaos as if they had always been there!! We are an Irish couple who live in the US, so we had the stress of trying to organise our irish wedding from abroad with constantly changing travel and covid restrictions. We had to source all suppliers online without meeting in person. Grainne was so responsive during this process, she made it easy. We had organized our hair and makeup trials at Grainne's studio, 2 days before the wedding, as it wasn't possible to fly home earlier. On the morning of the trials the hair stylist cancelled on us. I was so upset and stressed, with only 2 days until the wedding. Grainne was so kind and calming. She managed to find another hair stylist who was free that day for the trials and on the wedding day. Grainne saved the whole situation, she was fantastic and our makeup and hair looked fabulous in the end.

Grainne was an absolute pleasure to deal with from start to finish. She was so nice and friendly but also so professional and good at her job. She did make up for myself, 2 bridesmaids and my mother. We all looked so glam for the big day! She did a fabulous natural look on me which lasted throughout the day. She gave me some great tips and advice especially on for the hair and make up trial.

Grainne is so insanely talented! We are from the US and planned the whole wedding from across the Atlantic. Grainne immediately was so warm and friendly and put me right at ease. When we flew into Dublin, she actually drove ACROSS Ireland to do a makeup trial in our tiny hotel room- just to put my anxiety at ease! She absolutely knocked it out of the park, my hair has never held a curl but she found a way to give me amazing curls all night. I felt like a doll!! I would absolutely recommend her for both hair and makeup services 10/10!!!

I had gone for a trial with Sharon (Grainne's colleague, Grainne was sick that day) with an idea of what I wanted for my wedding. Sharon did everything I asked, but I just didn't realise my hair could not hold the style I had in my mind. So on the day of the wedding, when I told her I wanted something completely different neither herself or Grainne batted an eyelid and just did an amazing job on me (bride) and my bridal party. There was 7 of us in total on the day for hair and the girls just whizzed through us, chatting and laughing as they went.

Gr?inne was a pleasure to deal with, absolutely no stress in the lead up to the wedding and despite putting her and Sharon seriously through their paces by adding nearly every guest to their workload (!), they certainly didn?t show any signs of stress on the morning of the wedding! As for their work, it was second to none. Grainne absolutely nailed the look I wanted, despite my vague requests! And each of the guests that had their make up done had nothing but the highest of compliments for her work. I contacted Grainne based on the wonderful reviews I read here about her and I was definitely not disappointed, so friendly and personable, listened exactly to what I wanted and could trust her to do a fantastic job. I contacted her on very short notice when I thought there would be an elopement however me and my husband thought better of it and decided to have the family too. She looked after me, my bridesmaid,my sister in law and my mum. Grainne was a complete professional from beginning of her time to when it was time to go, she had suffered a tragedy during the weekend losing her close friend and having to attend funeral the day before my wedding but did not show her own suffering on the day at all which I can only imagine she was. I would recommend her 100% and I appreciate her so much for making my day so special.Thank you Grainne.

Gr?inne was absolutely amazing from start to finish. From the moment I made contact I knew she was going to be great. Made the process very simple since we ended up getting married last minute! (After a number of cancellations thanks to covid). She always got back to me quickly and was easy to get a hold of. She worked on my and 3 others in my party and was very efficient. Grainne was amazing. Storm Lorenzo got but she still managed to get to us even with a 2.5 hour journey early in the morning. Once she was with us she bent over backwards for all of us and even did extra makeup and hair. She was a real calming influence also and we had a great morning with her.

I found Grainne through the HIGM Facebook group as she was advertising an offer for a group of 5 and her work just looked amazing to me! I was so excited when I found out she was free for my date and she was the first supplier I booked after securing the venue!

I was quite nervous to book makeup without a trial as I live in the U.K. however Grainne was so accommodating and managed to do a trial the day before my own big day.
She is a lovely woman and very easy to work with and talk to. For someone shy like myself, she?s the perfect kind of person! I really enjoyed meeting her and working with her!
On the morning of my wedding she was a delight to have in the room with myself, the bridesmaids and mother?s. She got on with everyone and we all enjoyed her company.
Her range of foundation shades and ability to work on different skin tones was great as my bridesmaids and mother in law are all Asian. She ensured we all looked fabulous and flawless!

Grainne was great from day one!
I chose Make Up Matters as I has seen first hand how great the make up looks and lasts.
The trial was helpful in choosing colours & style.
On the day of the wedding everything went super smooth and on time. We had 7 of us for makeup so it was full on but it never seemed rushed.
The makeup was still perfect that night and all I had to do was top up my lip gloss.
I would recommend Grainne 100% for a professional experience and to have a lovely person on your big day too :-)

I had Grainne come to the hotel to do makeup for myself, my daughter's and other guests of the wedding of a family member. She arrived promptly at the agreed time, 7.30am and immediately set to organising a busy morning for us. She was absolutely outstanding in how she coordinated everyone. Her style of makeup application was new to all of us, airbrushing, and we were all thrilled with the results. Our makeup lasted right through until approx 4.30am only needing an extra application of lipstick after dinner. Her friendliness and helpfulness made the morning run smoothly and she remained with us until we were all ready to walk out the door. She's a lovely lady and extremely expert at what she does. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone whether bridal party or guests she's simply amazing. Book her if you can, you won't be sorry.

I found Grainne to be a fantastic MUA. She was so relaxed and nothing was left unturned. My make up and that of my bridal party was stunning. I got married a year ago now but life has just got busy and not got around to writing this. Even now though when I think of the morning of my wedding I think so fondly of Grainne. She was such a big part of the morning.

The build up to the wedding she was amazing, always responded quickly and very patient. I am UK based so the trial had to work around when we came over, she was very accommodating. She did my hair, make up and 4 other people in my wedding party.

During the morning of the wedding she was so friendly, chatty, bought music, a real calm to the morning and loads of advice. I have never felt so beautiful as when she did my make up. Grainne is such a lovely lady and I am so blessed she was part of the day and made me look and feel so amazing x

Married you need to book makeup matters,
I had booked a different makeup place in Galway and had a trial a few days before my wedding and let?s just say my trail went terrible I was so upset and with so little time I though
I was gonna end up doing my own makeup but I found makeup matters online and gave her a call and she brought me in for a makeup trial and was able to do my makeup and my bridal party?s makeup on my wedding day even though she had a wedding booked in on the same day she came to my house at 5 in the morning and had us all loooking amazing ,

Her attention to detail is second to none. She used the airbrush foundation on me and I have to say, I felt fantastic all day long. my skin looked refreshed and glowing all day and night long! The pictures came out stunning, bringing out all our best features. As well as being a top class make up artist, she is also a extremely genuine nice person. She made us all feel so comfortable that morning and helped us all feel relaxed and refreshed.

Grainne did an absolutely stunning job of myself, my bridesmaids and my mum. I never had airbrush done before, but it felt so light like I wasn?t wearing any makeup yet gave great coverage. She kept everyone calm, worked quickly and efficiently but no one felt rushed. My makeup lasted all day long, no touch up needed. I would honestly recommend Grainne to everyone.
