Laura and Cathal met on a night out! Their proposal is really sweet and romantic. This is Laura’s side of the story:

“Cathal was coming home from Cheltenham and he asked me to go upstairs to put up his jacket. When I was coming back down, he was on his knee at the bottom of the stairs.”

Their wedding was an autumn wedding. The bridesmaid dresses were a dusty rose with the bouquets being white, dusty roses and green. The theme was a flower team with pink flowers on invitations, mass booklets etc.

Laura wore an Enzoani blue ivory white dress that she purchased in 2020 (covid restrictions pushed the wedding out until 2022). Her shoes were high silver stilettos from Faith. Cathal wore a navy suit with a cream waistcoat and a navy tie. He wore dark brown shoes to match his outfit.

The bridesmaids wore dusty pink dresses with silver shoes and the groomsmen wore navy suits with navy ties and dark brown shoes. The page boy wore a navy suit with a cream waistcoat to match his daddy and a navy dicky bow.

Their wedding ceremony was in Kilcormac Church. The entrance had two large pink and white trees with two large white lanterns at each side. As they entered the church door a large mirror welcome sign was placed. Dark pink pew ends sat on the corners of the seats while the altar had two box bouquets of colourful flowers and the candles were placed on a small table in a pink and cream flower arrangement.

Here’s what they had to say about their gorgeous wedding venue:
“Our wedding venue was in the Midlands Park Hotel Portlaoise. As we entered the hotel the fantastic scents hit us. Our reception area was in a separate area and here we had our reception music by Mick and Paddy Buckley. A bar and outside area were also here. The outside garden has fantastic flowers in arches which made it a fantastic place for night time photos. The hall where dinner was held was done up with a candy cart outside the doors. All tables had gold chairs with a white table clothes with the top table on the left of the room facing down to the guests. The rooms and the bridal suite was something I could’ve never imagined it was amazing.”

Their wedding was beautifully captured by Golden Moments! Here’s what they said about Alan:
Alan was very professional and gifted at his job. He listened to everything we wanted done and did it with ease. Alan interacted so well with our son who is 20 months old and got fantastic pictures. We can not thank him enough for his amazing services and we can’t wait to see the pictures.”

To entertain their guests, they arranged a singing chef! He was able to change the whole atmosphere after the big meal and he got the guests laughing, singing and in the best mood for the night ahead.

Laura has some very special memories from the Big Day!
I have a few favourite memories: my first dance with my husband, my first dance with my daddy and how gorgeous our little boy looked in his suit making his mammy and daddy very proud. Our band the David Craig Band were outstanding. The floor was never empty and we cannot thank them enough for making our night so special.”

Newlyweds give fantastic wedding day advice! This is what Laura and Cathal shared:
Please enjoy the day it goes way too fast. It rained as I was ready to go to church and I remember not giving it a second thought and just saying “Oh what will be will be” and it ended up being a clear day following this. Don’t get off the dance floor and enjoy every second with your family and friends.”
