Experience Rock, Royalty and Romance at Slane Castle - hosting bespoke Weddings of 15 guests - 200 plus guests.
Tie the Knot amongst memories of Rock'n’Roll Legends and Royalty and Be the King or Queen of your own Castle for the day.
Your entire wedding can take place here on the 1500-acre Slane Castle Estate, from the ceremony itself to a sit-down banquet in our magnificent Gothic Ballroom, Castle Courtyard Marquee or more intimate State Rooms.
You will be greeted on arrival in our impressive Great Hall which is a stunning location for a drinks reception, with it's fine Doric columns and magnificent plasterwork compete for attention and are beautiful for indoor photos. U2's video for 'Pride (In the Name of Love)' was filmed here so your party can buzz off that rock history in the making.
Ceremonies
Slane Castle offers the beautiful historic Ballroom, sweeping front lawns or a host of more intimate State Rooms for an array of ceremonies including civil ceremonies, humanist blessings and multi-denomination ceremonies. There are also a number of churches located in nearby Slane Village and the local area.

For larger weddings we arrange an outdoor marquee which caters for 101-200+ guests, located in the Castle Courtyard right next to the Castle itself.

Accommodation
We currently have seven luxury double bedrooms, each designed to their own uniqueness. Expect four-poster beds & sumptuous furnishings hinting at stories and maybe even scandal … The King’s Room, The Earl & Countess… For additional guests, our sister property on the Slane Estate, Rock Farm, offers eco-friendly glamping & holiday homes just across the Boyne river from the Castle, and we have a selection of local B&Bs, guesthouses and hotels we can recommend.
Don’t forget day two! or a night before...
We are delighted to host night before and day after celebrations at the Castle and can tailor custom events to suit your friends & family, from private guided tours of the Castle, Whiskey Tastings & Masterclasses in the world-class Slane Irish Whiskey Distillery, a relaxed BBQ in the Castle Courtyard with fully organic Rock Farm produce, or a formal dinner in one of our State Rooms, we can create a bespoke experience to suit your exact requirements.
Our most popular option is Browne’s Bar, a cosy room named after the Castle housekeeper, Mary Browne. The bar boasts a fascinating Slane rock concert theme and the memorabilia from 40 years of high profile rock concerts make mesmerising reading. If these walls could talk, they’d tell some stories. It’s no stranger to great live music and jazz sessions into the wee small hours .
From initial planning, Shiyra was just a dream to deal with. Everything was so efficiently handled and gave us so much support and advice on the run-up to the big day.
Having our ceremony in the ballroom was just so special, the atmosphere of this room takes your breath away and is the most beautiful backdrop for photographs!
The food was just out of this world, from the menu tasting to the dinner, there was nothing we changed! Every guest still talks about the "best steak they ever had'! Cheryl and her team were so attentive to every guest but also had that sweet spot for keeping a relaxed presence.
For us, we didn't want the usual big band and dancefloor for the afters, so we chose to use the Gandon Restaurant and Browne's Bar for the evening entertainment. Filled with Rock n' Roll memorabilia, plush chairs, and an edgy style, it was the perfect spot for our 2 piece band to fill the air with covers from Bon Jovi to U2! Perfection!
A shout out to Rob, he just runs the bar like clockwork and kept the craic going and drinks flowing right into the early hours!
Waking up in a castle is truly an experience in itself as we tucked into a full Irish breakfast and THE most delicious croissants! The staff the following morning were also so friendly and attentive!
We really cannot recommend this venue enough for a wedding, it's not a polished 5* hotel, and that is EXACTLY why we love it. It just oozes charm around every corner, steeped in history and ran by an absolute dream team. Thank you so so much to everyone!
We would give 10 stars if we could!
