We met… We lived around the corner from each other our whole lives. I knew him to see and he reached out to me after I moved home from New York and we went on a date to Howth for fish and chips. We were inseparable from this day on. I never moved back to NYC instead we both moved to Canada.
Our proposal… three years in he took me back for fish and chips and proposed.
Our wedding theme/colours… black white and red. I copied my own parents colour theme they had on their wedding.
My dress… Essence of Australia White.
My hair and make up… Susan Brophy.
His suit… Hugo Boss.
What our bridal party wore… white bridal dresses. They were so hard to find!
Our ceremony… was held by father John McCarthy in St Coleman’s Cathedral in Cobh, co Cork Ireland.
We chose our videographer because… he had amazing videos and my cousin knew and recommended him. His drone footage is amazing! He was great on the day and captured everything we needed captured. The video was done in a movie style, different camera angles etc. It’s amazing !!!
We chose our venue because… It was unlike any other venue we had viewed. It’s such a classic venue surrounded by Irish countryside and elegant gardens.
My favourite part of the wedding day… The look on my husbands face when he saw me in the dress.
My piece of advice for other couples… don’t get so caught up in the plans. Really relax on the day and try to get a good rest the night before. Listen to your instincts and let the day be about you and your husband no one else.
